1 Year Anniversary Mailbag Contest!

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED! Thanks to all who entered!

Whoa! The Anime Nostalgia Podcast's 1-Year Anniversary is coming up next month! As a thank you to all you listeners for supporting my humble little podcast, I decided a giveaway was in order! YAY, PRIZES!

So here's the details!
Next month's episode, I'll be reuniting with my good pal and first-ever guest on the podcast, Heather! And I thought it would be fun to go through some of the emails I've been getting at the podcast email, answering questions, taking suggestions, all that fun stuff. Heather will help answer and give commentary, so it should be a fun episode. And that's where you guys come in!

To enter the contest, all you have to do is send an email to AnimeNostalgiaPodcast@gmail.com with something for us to read and answer on the new episode: your thoughts about the podcast, ideas for future episodes, general questions...basically anything related to the podcast and/or older anime! Keep it (relatively) clean, keep it fun and enjoyable, and make it interesting! (You can even ask Heather some questions if you want.) We'll pick whichever email we like the most--will it be the one that's the funniest? The best idea for a new episode? The best anecdote on anime fandom in the 80s/90s? We don't know! We'll have to wait and see what kind of emails we get! BUT HURRY! Deadline for email's will be JUNE 1st, 2014! Any emails after that won't be eligible for the contest, so mail it before then!

And what do you win?!
The winner of the contest will receive a copy of the '09 release of Akira on blu-ray, as well 1 random "vintage" single-chapter floppy-style manga comic, and possibly a few other small random goodies! (Oooooh, ahhhh~)

But before you enter, be sure to read the RULES:
  • For this contest, I can only accept entries in North America & Canada. Sorry, I know I have some listeners in other countries, but shipping can get expensive! I promise I'm working on a world-wide giveaway soon!
  • Comments/reblogs/etc do not count as entries! Only emails to AnimeNostalgiaPodcast@gmail.com will be qualified to win.
  • You have to be willing to give me a shipping address to send you your prize! If I don't hear from you or get a shipping address in 1 week after the winner's announced, the prize will be sent to a runner-up.
  • Please no highly inappropriate emails. We don't mind swearing, but try to keep the content PG-13-ish, ok?
  • If you don't want us to read your full name on the episode, be sure to let me know somewhere in the email.
  • If you enter the contest and win, but do not live in North America or Canada, you will be disqualified & your prize will be sent to a runner-up.
  • All entries for the contest must be received by 9 AM CENTRAL TIME, JUNE 1st 2014 to qualify! Any emails received after that will not be eligible to win, sorry!
  • Any questions, feel free to email/message/comment!
We can't wait to read your emails & record the new episode! And thanks again, listeners, for 1 year of podcast fun. I couldn't do it without you guys! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

The Anime Nostalgia Podcast ep 14

iTunes subscribers! Be sure to go to the blog to read the description easier & check out links for this episode!
Before we had things like Toonami and Adult Swim, anime fans spent their Saturdays huddled around the TV watching a block of anime called Saturday Anime on the Sci-Fi Channel (way back in the days when it wasn't spelled "SyFy"). Returning guest Zee and I reminisce about the programing, the impact it made, and yes; even Apollo Smile: The Live-Action Anime Girl.
