ANP says TRANS RIGHTS!!! Fundraiser Raffle

An image of the trans flag with the text: "ANP says TRANS RIGHTS!!! Fundraiser raffle for @TransTexas".

Are you, like me, disgusted over Greg Abbott's most recent attack on trans kids in Texas? Well, let's do something about it! I'm doing a raffle fundraiser for TENT, The Transgender Education Network of Texas, and the winner of this raffle will get to choose a pre-00s anime for me to talk about in a future episode of The Anime Nostalgia Podcast!

How to enter the Raffle:
  • Go to TENT's Donation Page & Donate any amount of $5 or more to their organization!
  • Send a screenshot of your finished donation OR a copy of your email receipt to AnimeNostalgiaPodcast@gmail.com ! (Make sure it has your name--though you can block out your last name if you like--and the donation amount so I can enter you in the raffle properly!)
  • Every $5 donation counts as 1 "raffle ticket", so the more money you donate, the more chances you have to win! (ie if you donated $20, that means you're entered 4 times in the raffle!)
  • On April 1st, 2022, I will randomly select 1 person out of the raffle, and that person will get to chose an anime title for the subject of a full Anime Nostalgia Podcast episode sometime later in the year!!
  • Addition on 3/3 - I wasn't aware when I started this raffle, but it seems like some folks without a US address aren't able to donate? If you're outside the US and would like to donate but can't, I suggest asking a friend you can trust in the US to help you if possible (ie, you send them the amount you'd like to donate, and they do it on your behalf), OR if that's not an option, you can send your donation to me at the email listed above and I will personally donate on your behalf (I will of course send you a copy of the donation receipt to confirm your money was sent!)
The Rules:
  • All donations MUST be made to TENT and must be recent. Older donations, or donations to other charities will not be eligible for this raffle.
  • Cut-off for email entries will be March 31st at 12pm PST. Please send your emails of proof of donation before then!
  • The anime the winner chooses must be: a title that hasn't had an episode made on The Anime Nostalgia Podcast previously, pre-00 anime title, non-hentai, and not so obscure that no one can watch it. (You can see a list of all ANP episodes that have been made up to this point here!)
  • It's suggested that each person who enters have several anime titles in mind, in case one or more of their anime titles won't work for a full podcast episode. (You don't have to choose them right now, you can decide which once you've been notified you've won.)
  • The winner does not get to choose who the guest host for the episode will be, but can suggest one if they like.
  • The winner could choose a manga to talk about instead of an anime, if they like, but the same guidelines will apply.
  • Dawn, the host of The Anime Nostalgia Podcast, has final say in what anime title gets chosen by the winner. If the winner & host somehow cannot come to an agreement on a title, a new winner will be chosen.
  • UPDATE! If the raffle reaches $2,000 total donated or over, I will choose a SECOND winner who will be able to pick an anime title for me to do a short ReView episode on! Similar guidelines for choosing an anime title for a ReView ep will apply, though they can be titles that are a little more obscure and/or out of print. I prefer these to be shorter titles whenever possible (ie less than 20 episodes, if it's a TV series), so please keep that in mind!

About The Transgender Education Network of Texas:

From their website - TENT is an organization dedicated to furthering gender diverse equality in Texas. We work to accomplish this through education and networking in both public and private forums. Through our efforts we strive to halt discrimination through social, legislative, and corporate education. I chose TENT as the charity for this fundraiser because their donations go directly towards fighting anti-trans legislature in Texas, as well as supporting actual trans people there who are working towards equality. While there are trans people everywhere who need help, this is a small step towards helping those currently in an area that needs it.

Thank you all for entering & donating towards a good cause! Good luck!
