ReplyDeleteI saw the first episode when it had just come out and I was hooked not only because of the style but due to recognizing characters from Chinese literature. There is a good complete translation of the "Water Margin" as "Outlaws of the Marsh" in a 4 volume box set. Great stuff, there is murder, mayhem, thievery, poisoning, the sacking of cities, massacres of innocents, cannibalism and more. And those are the good guys!
