The Anime Nostalgia Podcast - Ep 49

iTunes & Stitcher subscribers! Be sure to go to the blog to read the description easier & check out links for this episode!

This month’s episode is another ReView! What is a “ReView” episode, you might ask? Well, it’s my highly-clever (ok not really) title for episodes where I go back and watch an older title I haven’t seen in a long time, and see if what I remember (and what my opinions on it) are still the same now that some time’s gone by. While some of you are enjoying your shiny new Magic Knight Rayearth blurays, what better time to revisit the other Rayearth? That’s right, it’s the 1997 Rayearth OAV!

  1. Nice cast. ^_^ Been a while since I've thought about the Rayearth OAV.

Your KOR link is a duplicate of the Amazon link above, tho. I searched for it to read.

There is only ever one Madoka in my book!

  3. The Rayearth OVA wasn't the first time director Hirano had girls piloting giant robots in their birthday suits! He did that back in 1985 in Iczer-One.

I've been enjoying the podcast. You have a relaxing voice, and you know a thing or two about Japanese cartoons. :)

  6. Hmmm,I had to Google this because I had no idea what you were referencing (I don't watch/keep up with movie review websites or YTers)...if you're referring to the "re:view" YT series I found, it looks like they started it last year? My ReView podcast episodes started with my Utena ep in 2013: http://animenostalgia.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-anime-nostalgia-podcast-ep-03.html

I also fully admit it's a silly name, lol. ;)
