The Anime Nostalgia Podcast - Important Announcement!
Subscribers! Be sure to go to the blog to read the description easier & check out links for this announcement!
Stream the audio above or [Direct Download]
Hey everyone! An important announcement regarding the podcast! Starting in December of 2021, I'll be going on a much-needed little vacation for a few months (probably around 2 or 3, depending on how I'm feeling). After doing 105 straight months of podcasting, paired with some minor health issues I've been having lately, I feel like I just need a little break to help me prevent burnout. But like I say in the audio above, I won't leave you hanging when it comes to things to listen to! While I'm gone, I'll be uploading some really great podcasts I was a guest on that I think you'll all enjoy. I'll also be adding the special thanks for ko-fi tips on those re-uploaded episodes, and adding any updates as well, to keep you all posted on when I'm set to start recording again.
And for those of you sad that I won't be able to do the Year in Review this year, I'll still be doing my annual Holiday Giveaway to make up for it, and just because...I love doing the giveaway every year! So check back here on Dec 1st, 2021 to enter that. I'll have some fun prizes to give to a few lucky people, so hopefully that's a small silver lining.
If you'd like to continue to support me while I'm on break, here's how you can do so!
- Leave me a tip of any size on my ko-fi account (tips of 2 or more will get you a shout-out in the special thanks segment of the next episode!)
- Shop my affiliate links at Rightstuf, CDJapan, and Amazon! I get a few cents for each purchase you make.
- Buy merch with my designs on my Teepublic shop! Not only can you buy my designs/podcast logo merch on everything from stickers, tote bags, mugs, shirts, and more, I get a small percentage from each purchase made!
- You can also leave a nice review on whatever platform you use to listen to the podcast! It always brightens my day to see kind words about my work.
You can also follow the podcast tumblr here, where I have new posts queued up daily! And my personal Twitter account is here. And of course, you can still email the podcast any time at AnimeNostalgiaPodcast@gmail.com!
I'm so grateful for your continued support, and for your understanding while I take this much needed break! See you in December for the first of my "vacation" guest episodes and the holiday giveaway!

The Anime Nostalgia Podcast - ep 104: ReView: Twilight of the Dark Master
Subscribers! Be sure to go to the blog to read the description easier & check out links for this episode!
This month’s episode is another short ReView! What is a “ReView” episode, you might ask? Well, it’s my highly-clever (ok not really) name for episodes where I go back and revisit an older title I haven’t seen in a long time, and see if what I remember (and what my opinions on it) are still the same now that some time’s gone by. It's Halloween month, so enjoy this fun-sized episode where I rewatch the dark & gritty 90s supernatural horror OVA, Twilight of the Dark Master. Is this one an actual treat, or is it better left sitting in the bottom of the candy dish? Let's find out!

(EDIT: SOLD OUT! THANKS EVERYONE!) This Thursday: The return of Anime Nostalgia's Pen Pal Mailers!
Some of you might remember that last year, I used the fanart sketch cards I did for the #sixfanarts challenge on Twitter to make "Pen Pal Mailers": mailed envelopes with a random sketch card, stickers, and other fun goodies in the vein of old-school pen paling for a set amount of tips to my ko-fi. And since I did more cards for Drawtober last year, I thought it'd be fun to do it again! Though this time, to make things easier, I'm setting up a ko-fi shop! On Thursday, September 2nd, 2021 at 12pm PST, all 10 Pen Pal Mailers will be listed at my ko-fi shop HERE (it won't work until the set time). For those who weren't around the first time I did them, or just need a refresher, here's how it'll work!
- 1 random sketch card
- 1 Anime Nostalgia Podcast logo sticker
- 1 random manga bookmark
- a hand-written thank you, all mailed in a hand-decorated envelope!
- Everything included in The Basic Mailer
- MORE goodies like stickers, vintage trading cards, memos, and other fun things! The more you decide to tip me, the more things I will stuff into that envelope!
PLEASE NOTE that shipping is FREE worldwide because I'll just be putting a stamp on the envelopes (I have international stamps for those outside the US!). However, this means there is no tracking number on these mailers, and by purchasing, you agree to this. (In the event that your mailer somehow gets lost in transit, I will be happy to create a replacement to send for you.)
In the spirit of pen pal mail being a bit of a surprise, you won't get to chose which character art you receive in the mail. HOWEVER: if there's a character in the bunch you would feel REALLY disappointed to get, please leave me a message and I'll do my best to try not to send you that specific character.
Here's a look at all of the sketch cards that will be available:
From top left - right: Kyoko from Maison Ikkoku, Noriko from Gunbuster, Golgo 13, Fujiko Mine from Lupin III, Mukuro from Yu Yu Hakusho. Bottom row, from left - right: Tasuki from Fushigi Yugi, Little My from Moomin, Lina from Slayers, Haida from Aggretsuko, and Umi from Rayearth.

This month, I revisit a surprising title based on a shojo manga that actually got an official release back in the 90s! But was it worth revisiting? Let’s find out!
