This month, we’re returning to my Creative Conversations series! In these episodes, I talk to people in various creative fields making things today who were greatly inspired by anime & manga, and are using that inspiration today to make their own cool things. This time, we’re talking to Eisner-Nominated comic artist, writer, colorist, and occasional cosplayer Sarah Myer (They/Them)! We discuss how growing up loving cartoons & anime not only had a big impact on their life, but how fandom was a major plot point in their incredible auto-biographical graphic novel Monstrous: A Transracial Adoption Story. We also talk about early fandom memories, cosplay, how both TMNT and Evangelion have always been there for them, and answering your questions!

With a new Voltron series out now, it seems like the perfect time to go back and talk about not only the original 80s classic, but the entire world of Voltron! Whether you were a fan back in the 80s or discovered it through syndication or Toonami, Voltron was many fan's first anime TV series. And who better to talk about it with than my friend Pat, lover of all things robot related and host of The Cockpit Podcast. Listen as we laugh over the....let’s say “questionable” voice choices of the original show, muse over what 80s cartoon PSAs might sound like if they were still around today, and yes--we even talk about the new Voltron series.
