Wishing all of you a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
What was it like being an anime & manga fan before the 2000s? And were some of my favorite anime series really as good as I remember them? Welcome to the Anime Nostalgia Podcast, a mix of anime & manga history, reviews, and talks with other fans on titles and aspects of fandom from everywhere from the 70s to the 90s!

If you're more into podcast episodes where I talk to guests about specific topics, fear not--I have another episode just like that (which I'm editing as we speak!) that will be released before the end of the month. So hopefully this will tide you over until then.
(I should note that when I copied down the meme, I apparently got a copy of it where 1 question was accidentally asked twice...it seems to have been revised since then, thankfully. If you want to do the meme yourself, check out the questions here.)

The Anime Nostalgia Podcast ep 03 - ReView: Revolutionary Girl Utena
What is a "ReView" episode, you might ask? Well, it's my highly-clever (ok not really) title for episodes where I go back and watch an older title I haven't seen in a long time, and see if what I remember (and what my opinions on it) are still the same now that time's gone by and I'm a little older.
For my first ReView episode, I asked around my circle of friends as to what title they'd be interested in hearing about first, and I was surprised to see that almost all of them wanted Utena! So by popular demand, here it is:

Relevant links:
Buy Part 1 of Utena
The Right Stuf International / Amazon
Nozomi's Official Utena Website (with interviews & lots of info!)
ReView episodes will be shorter than normal episodes (This one's under 50 mins, as apposed to my Guest/Topic episodes that can go as long as 2 hours!), and will be released here and there, in between Guest/Topic episodes from time to time, just as something different to mix things up a bit!
And don't worry--for those of you who prefer my episodes with guests where we talk about topics and such, I'm editing a new one as we speak (this one all about the world of Gundam!), which will be released in the next week or two. This is just to tide you over. ;D
As always, feel free to leave me your thoughts and ideas for future episodes (ReView or otherwise!), and thanks for listening!

The Anime Nostalgia Podcast ep 02 - Sailor Moon talk with NatsukiGirl
Episode 2 is here! With my special guest, NatsukiGirl; who not only has run the Sailor Moon fanpage SweetUsagi since the late 90s, but also has a series of informative Youtube videos on collecting Japanese manga.
Listen as we reminisce & ramble about being young Sailor Moon fans in the 90s, how Sailor Moon effected us when it came to anime/manga fandom, and general talk of all things Sailor Moon...Basically trying to touch all the bases.
Stream the episode above or [Direct Download]
As I said in the podcast numerous times, this definitely won't be the only episode I do concerning Sailor Moon since it's SUCH a prolific body of work, but hopefully you enjoy our first ever Sailor Moon episode!

The Anime Nostalgia Podcast ep 01 - Convention Talk with CandyAppleCat
It's finally here! The revamped Anime Nostalgia Podcast! In this episode, I talk to longtime fan & friend of mine, Heather (aka @CandyAppleCat). She's been going to A-kon longer than I have (since I just moved here about 5 years ago), so we talk about this years A-kon as compared to ones prior. I pick Heather's brain about how she got into anime, her feelings on fansubbing today, and various similar topics--as well as the recent resurgence of popularity for things like Ranma 1/2, Sailor Moon, and Rose of Versailles. Sit down and listen in!
Or [ Direct Download ]
If you listened to my Pilot episode (Ep. 0), you'll notice the format is different than the "review" episode I did. Fear not, review episodes will still be similar (though with considerably less music). I just thought it'd be fun to alternate between reviews and talking with guests from time to time.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy! Feel free to leave me your thoughts, opinions, and ideas for future episodes, and thanks for listening!

ひさしぶり!
Hey, all! It's been a while, eh?
Real life has once again crept up on me, and so the podcast had fallen to the wayside. But I am more determined than ever to get up and running once more, this time on a more regular basis! To help me get pumped up for this, I've created a Tumblr blog for the podcast as well here: http://animenostalgia.tumblr.com/
This will basically be a supplement to this blog and the podcast itself, where in between podcasts I'll be blogging relevant stuff--news, images, whatever--to anime of the past. So feel free to add it and check it out!
Of course I'm not abandoning this place for Tumblr, think of it as a supplement to this one, like I said. ;)
Until next time!
